Careers Fair

At Priestley we feel it is never too soon to start planting seeds. We place a great value in wanting to provide our children with reasons why it is important to enjoy learning and to always try to do your best when tackling something new.

We provide ourselves on being able to hold an annual Careers Fair for the children in years 4,5 & 6. We have been lucky enough to attract a range of both local, national & international companies over the years. This busy afternoon provides the children with the opportunity to explore different professions and ask questions with the aim of the children leaving school that day with maybe a seed that can be watered during their remaining time at Priestley and then into secondary school.

Over the past few years, we have been extremely grateful to welcome a wealth of industry to Priestley such as the multi-national Hewlett Packard, Honda & BMW, national companies such as Virgin Media, GWR Trains, Keir & Babcock, and educational establishments such as Lacock College, Bath Spa University & Bristol University. Looking more locally we have welcomed the Ambulance Service, Wiltshire Police, Jam Print, Chilvester Financial, Wilkins Builders and AH Design to name but a few.

‘The children were very engaged, asked lots of good questions, were polite and behaved extremely well.’

‘It was great to see the pupils getting so much out of it.’

 Persimmon Homes

‘Thank you so much for the invitation, it was a lot of fun and I'm pleased to hear the pupils found the event useful.’

‘I would like to mention how polite all the pupils were and thank them for their interest, engagement, and questions. I'd also like to say thank you to the staff who welcomed us and for the cups of tea (the 2nd cup of tea barely touched the sides, as I was so thirsty after the children left). ‘

Congratulations on organising such a wonderful event.

‘It’s been great to be a part of a local event for primary aged children and to see their enthusiasm and vision for their future careers.’

‘I think it is a great idea to get young children to think about their future careers and the opportunity to talk to parents and guardians added to the experience.’
